We wanted to reach out to all residents at Stark Firs-managed properties during this challenging and uncertain time. We value our residents, and we share your concerns not only about the health risks associated with COVID-19, but also about the devastating effect this pandemic is having on businesses large and small, employers, employees, and families.

As you may know, Stark Firs has reduced staff and closed all offices to the public until further notice. We want our staff and associates—many of whom are your neighbors—to be safe and healthy, and we want you to be safe and healthy. As Stark Firs follows all COVID-19 protocols, we ask that you do the same. This crisis has shown just how interconnected we really are, and as such, everyone must work together to survive this crisis and rebuild.

We know that some Stark Firs residents will be economically affected by job or income loss as the result of COVID-19, and that many of you are worried about the future. As a small business, we’re worried too. We have received questions about what will happen if a tenant cannot pay rent on time, and whether the government has decreed that tenants no longer have to pay rent. Like you, we’re doing our best to keep up with the changes that are coming almost on a daily basis. Stark Firs isn’t in a position to give you legal advice, but rest assured that Stark Firs will comply with all COVID-19 legal protections that may be enacted during this time. As of today, that does not include waiving tenants’ obligation to pay rent.

Maintenance is only available for essential services at this time. Due to COVID-19, we have reduced staff and must follow state officials in their orders in addressing essential work only. Tenants will receive confirmation that their request was received, and the inquiry will take priority next in line.
